Synopsis:
Learn to etch your unique designs on copperplate for printing, and discover its marbling effects by creating patterns of swirling loops and rippling edges in this 3-hour workshop!
In this workshop, participants will learn more about the process of the printmaking method, copperplate etching. You will get to personally concoct the water bath and ground mixture for the patterns to float on the aqueous surface. This will be followed by the delicate process of dipping the copperplate into the bath so as to catch the marbled patterns. Then, the marbled pattern copperplate is etched in another bath composed of acid.
In the grand finale, see your hard/art work come to life as you pull multiple prints from the etched marbled copperplate!
