Synopsis:

A solo exhibition by Sin Yee Tan uses animals to explore the paradox of human progress in the present world.

Twelve canvases, produced between 2017 and 2020, are now exhibited for the first time. These paintings address the theme of the relationship between man and nature; it alludes to our anthropocentrism and technological advances that underpin current human existence.

Drawing the narrative from humanity's progressive alienation from the natural world and towards the artificial, 'Where are we going: do we want to arrive?' invites us to reconsider the reality that we inhabit by examining the rites and rituals of humankind.

In this exhibition, watch selected paintings come alive with augmented reality (AR). Blurring the lines between the digital and the real, viewers are asked to draw meaning from the experience, which hints at the transforming course of how we may come to relate with our physical environment.
