Synopsis:

Playwrights Commune's mission is to build a community to support the development of new Singaporean playwriting.

From December 2021 - April 2022, Playwrights Commune will be running Open Studio 2.0. This iteration will continue to equip playwrights with the opportunities to learn new skills across the programmes we offer - Dramatized Readings, Workshops, Writers Groups, Masterclasses, and assorted Community Activities. Dramatized Readings, Workshops and Writers Groups will be selective programmes, whereas Masterclasses and assorted Community Activities are open to all who respond to this Open Call.

We are looking for playwrights who are keen to develop their skills and dedicated to their craft. Playwrights who are passionate, take initiative, and are ready to take charge of their developmental journeys. We will provide support in finding collaborators for playwrights, distributing honorariums to their collaborators, supplying venues for our programmes, advising playwrights on different developmental activities they may wish to conduct or participate in, and with marketing and publicity where required.

Deadline for submissions: November 15th 2021, 2359H. Late submissions will not be considered.
