Synopsis:

On 13 Sep, Beautiful Sunday returns for a limited run of three exciting online episodes! True to its objective of brightening our days particularly during difficult times, these digital community concerts will take the show online with new performances by up-and-coming homegrown artists filmed exclusively inside the Esplanade Concert Hall.

For the pilot episode, vocal group The Opera People and crooner Nick Zavior are set to hit the high notes with contrasting singing styles that will show you what the human voice can do. Experience an eclectic and spellbinding performance that pairs time-honoured classics such as Verdi's Bella Figlia Dell'amore from the opera Rigoletto with soulful ballads from one of Singapore's most promising R&B artists. Demonstrating the voice at its best, the first installment of Beautiful Sunday Online will not only lift your spirits but also make your heart sing!

Beautiful Sunday was launched by Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay in 2003 at the height of the SARS crisis to encourage Singaporeans to return to arts venues for live performances. Held once a month on a Sunday, it offers a series of free community concerts and the opportunity for all to enjoy performances in the Esplanade Concert Hall. Since its introduction, the programme has drawn almost 20,000 attendees every year. For the first time in 18 years, Beautiful Sunday arrives in an online edition featuring different artists and ensembles performing their own originals or evergreen favourites.
