DIS/CONTENT is a fledgling arts collective that puts the focus on pleasure, collaboration and interdisciplinary arts practice.
We're looking to get a show of sorts together in January 2021 and are looking for compatriots to join us on this journey! If you are an artist interested in DIS/CONTENT and what we stand for, please send in an application. As we are an amorphous and flexible entity focused on collaboration and interdisciplinary pollination, we're not going to propose an monolithic prescribed event. We'd rather build one together with you, our future collaborators! As such, we are providing a framework to work within rather than a recipe.
Our first showing revolves around the theme morphability.
// You are free to take this how you will, it's definitely up to interpretation.
// The work will have to exist in two or more forms: One suited for online streaming or exhibition, and another in any form(s) of the artist's choice.
// Don't limit yourself, our job is to make the mediums work for the piece(s) instead of the other way around. We're going to make it work together in these strange and unusual times!
What we expect from you:
// Being able to commit 2-3 hours a week to the collective, for us to create that collaborative space, for YOU!
// Openness to new ideas and a variety of artistic mediums. Our ethos lies in allowing a spirit of play, and experimentation to nurture our works.
Period of Commitment: Aug 2020 - Jan 2021
Still interested? Awesome! Here's what we'll need from you for our consideration.
// A sampling of past works between 1 - 10 pieces to give us an idea of the work you do.
// A 300-500 word proposal for a project to work on within morphability.
// Fill up our application form here: https://forms.gle/27ckZaZs2TdFrAoBA
* If you are vehemently against Google forms, please email us for application details!
Deadline for submission: 18 August 2020, 2359hrs.
We hope to hear from you soon! Please feel free to drop us a message @hellodiscontent on IG or email us at email@example.com if you need any additional information.
