Synopsis:

Invaluable. Prized. Treasured.

Gading (Malay for "ivory"), is a contemporary dance work with roots in Malay culture and traditional dance movements, drawing inspiration from the exquisite traits of ivory.

In celebration of Sriwana's 65th anniversary, Aidli Mosbit, who last presented the sold-out Alkesah at Pesta Raya 2018, comes onboard as dramaturg. Gading also features Sriwana's very own resident choreographers Zannury Zakarea, Aziela Abdul Rahim and Juhari Zaid along with dancers from the company.

Established in 1955, Sriwana is the oldest Malay performing arts group in Singapore. It has served as a training ground for many Singapore Malay dance practitioners and is committed to offering fresh expressions of traditional Malay performing arts practices.
