Synopsis:

This year, NUS Dance Synergy seeks to question the nature of human activity and its nuanced relationship with the environment in hope to unpack the powerful dynamics between the physical body and personal philosophy.

With original works from established artists Albert Tiong (former dance artist from Cloud Gate Dance Theatre and NUS Dance Synergy Technique Tutor), Zhuo Zihao (associate artist of T.H.E. Dance Company, Young Artist Award 2012), alumni choreographer Goh Xin Yi, and led by our Artistic Director Yarra Ileto (former member of T.H.E. Dance Company, Young Artist Award 2017), Fuse(d) 2019: Contemporary Dance x Philosophy invites the audience to explore the idea of moving thoughts – are we the physical embodiment of our thinking, moving in response to our environment? Or are we reflective bodies, consciously incorporating our values, beliefs, and inquiries into our movements?
