The event showcases 9 local artists (featuring Diana Rahim, Simon Ng, Royston Phang, Adeline Loo, Michelle Lim, Koh Hong Teng, Joe Peter, Chan Wai Lim & Ho Hui May) who through their respective artistic genres (photography, illustration, fibre art, ceramics, literature, videography and paint), will address the theme: How might we present stories of urbanization in Singapore affecting the ecosystems that are knitted to them, specifically cats? Their curated artistic expressions will provide new points of view in the ongoing dialogue focusing on cats and urbanization. The 9 Lives Show 2019 is officially part of the Singapore Design Week (SDW) 2019 Satellite Programme.
In addition to the showcase of the 9 exciting art pieces, you will be treated to an array of activities over the weekend of March 16 & 17 such as
i) face-painting for children;
ii) adoption and painting of your very own mini cat figurine;
iii) an opportunity to meet and have your photo taken with Singapore's very own celebrity cats (@fioloh featuring Zelia, @home_of_fluff featuring Skye & Muffin, @moecatclub featuring Chairperson, @mochi.momochi, @cherr_kitties featuring Pixie, @duke.sg featuring Duke, @yellowgingergirls featuring Cody & Roxy and @strawberry_the_flat_face featuring Berry);
iv) a bazaar featuring vendors such as Ann Yew, Bleak Illustration, BLOM, Lagom.sg, Meow Meow Tweet, My Itchy Fingers, Pets Actually & White Feather. A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of items at the bazaar will go towards our main beneficiary - Cat Welfare Society and
v) human-size cat mascots featuring Cat Sam & Cat Shiloh
