Synopsis:

What would you say to an innocent child who has literally never seen the world?

Bhumi Collective is delighted to present the Singapore premiere of Charlie by Victoria Chen, after two successful runs at the Edinburgh Student Arts Festival and the On the Rock Festival in 2017.

In a world rife with all sorts of upheavals, twelve-year-old Charlie has spent virtually her entire life within the confines of a sterile room. She has been brought up to believe that there is danger beyond her room, and that the world has made a sacrifice for her to remain safe where she is.

The time has finally come for Charlie to meet the world and discover what really lies beyond the only four walls that she is familiar with. We invite people of all creeds to spend fifteen minutes visiting Charlie in her room. How would you explain the complex realities of a world that she has never been part of, or responsible for creating?
