Synopsis:

How To Be Happy (again) will kick off Esplanade's Spoken Word Sunday series on 5 August, 5-6pm! In collaboration with Ethos Books and Esplanade, Jennifer Anne Champion and Samuel Caleb Wee will present an evening of rhyme, rhythm and words exploring happiness and the notion of a greater good. Come by the Esplanade Concourse to hear their poetic responses to one of the biggest questions of our time: how to be happy?

About Jennifer Anne Champion
Jennifer Anne Champion is a writer and performance poet from Singapore. She serves as co-founder and multimedia editor at poetry.sg with the young artist collective Image-Symbol Department. She also teaches slam poetry and creative writing in schools in collaboration with organisations such as Word Forward, the National Arts Council and the Ministry of Education. Jennifer co-edited the anthology SingPoWriMo and released her first chapbook, A History of Clocks, in 2015. Her latest poetry collection is Caterwaul (2016). She is currently working on her first novel Majulah.

About Samuel Caleb Wee
As a poet and creative non-fiction writer, Samuel Caleb Wee has appeared in publications such as Poskod, Kitaab, Ceriph, and Esquire. He graduated from NTU with a degree in English Literature in 2016, and is presently working on his debut poetry collection. In his spare time, he pretends to talk to cats.
