Synopsis:
Modern Nanyang Poetry and Music (MNPM) named by Dr Chua Chee Lay, is a new song genre which combines modern Nanyang poetry and music. Dr Chua, Mr Zhang Yaotian, and Ms Huang Qian, will both sing the songs and recite the poems, so as to recount MNPM's origins and chart its development. Dr Chua is the President of the Contemporary Arts Research Association. Mr Zhang, a significant composer of MNPM, was trained in Japan. Ms Huang Qian received training in traditional Beijing opera at a young age. She writes, composes and sings MNPM.
