Synopsis:

Celebrate the launch of three literary pamphlets by first-time authors, spanning poetry, fiction and essay. How to Love the Sun by Justina Lim is a story about playing with fire, set in a world where, like sweat and gin, Chinese myths mingle with motels and hitmen. Small Droll Things by Zhang Ruihe sees a woman revisiting her childhood in all its innocence and strife, where she finds poems -- and an essay -- whistling their secret, familiar tunes. Things That Are Beautiful Do Not Always Speak to You by Bella Stoddart comprises poems of love and unlove, alternate husbands and daughters, of parallel lists, of gardens of forking paths. Come too for readings of the Paper Jam longlist starring Euginia Tan, Joses Ho, Nicole Bruma, and Jack Xi, with special guest Melizarani T Selva reading with Euginia and on behalf of Jack.
