Synopsis:

"A contemporary play about real women."
They call them Wushu warriors for a reason – but Chloe fights against so much more in this stereotypically "male" sport. Daniel, her brother, seems to have it easy, but he too has battles of his own. Meanwhile, he navigates the world of interracial dating with Iman, who is caught between her aspirations and her roots.

An original play inspired by crowdsourced stories, Every Singaporean Daughter tells the untold story of gender as young Singaporeans experience it, asking "Do we always have to classify people to understand them?" Follow these young people as they struggle to balance expectations from family and society with their modern ambitions, and explore what it means to be a Singaporean daughter.

About UNSAID
UNSAID aims to be Singapore's largest, studentled, sociallyminded arts collective.

Founded upon a common passion for the arts, UNSAID marries the youth's passion for the arts with social issues in Singapore to create meaningful works that provoke thought and inspire conversations.

Singapore is a melting pot of people of different races, religions and walks of life, bringing about social issues unique to our sunny island. As a young and relatively conservative Asian society, we may lack the vocabulary and environment to engage in open conversations regarding sensitive issues.

The founding members of UNSAID are widely connected with youths from various schools who are talented and skilled in different forms of arts, ranging from theatre to music and film to photography. These young artistic individuals are the next generation of our country and we seek to encourage them to look to our society for inspiration. Adopting a thematic approach, we intend to streamline all efforts to tackle a social theme each year, generating more focused discussions.
