Synopsis:

First staged in 2007 and directed by Tracie Pang, The Pillowman was described as "absolutely unmissable" by The Flying Inkpot. A decade later and in response to overwhelming demand, Pangdemonium is thrilled to launch its 2017 Season with this spellbinding stunner of a play.

The show will also see the reunion of three of the four original leads, Adrian Pang, Daniel Jenkins and Shane Mardjuki. Also starring Andy Tear, Bright Ong, Victoria Minty, introducing Prudence Rivero and directed by Tracie Pang.

Winner of two Tony Awards and Olivier Award for Best Play, The Pillowman opens in a prison cell where a writer is being questioned about the stories he has written — grim tales that bear semblance to killings in the streets outside. As the interrogation progresses, tensions mount and the divide between real and fictional worlds blur. The result is a vicious whirlpool of dazzling story-telling and an unflinching examination of the very nature and purpose of art.

The Pillowman celebrates the raw, vital human instinct to invent fantasies, to lie for sport and to con for one's own end. This sinisterly funny nail-biting thriller will have you squirming in your seats even as you howl with laughter.
