Synopsis:

If a new MRT station is coming to your neighbourhood and something must make way for it, what should stay and what should go?

How would you decide?

The Lesson asks questions about what forces are at work in shaping our space, and whether there is enough space for shared heterotopias.

The Lesson was first performed at the Singapore International Festival of Arts 2015 to great acclaim. Together as part of the trilogy of It Won't Be Too Long, the participatory performance was lauded by local media as one of 2015's productions of the year. Drama Box has since adapted the piece and brought it to Taiwan in December 2016 and the International Community Arts Festival in Rotterdam in March 2017. The Lesson was also piloted as a theatre programme for youths at two local secondary schools in 2016.

Languages:
Mandarin sessions are on Wednesdays and Fridays (i.e., 5th, 7th, 12th, 14th, 19th & 21st July)
English sessions are on Thursdays and Saturdays (i.e., 6th, 8th, 13th, 15th, 20th & 22nd July)

《一堂课》是一出具有参与性的演出。它质问在一个空间有限的地方，是什么力量在塑造我们的空间？人民能否塑造一个属于大家的异托邦。

《一堂课》是《在不久的将来》三部曲的其中之一，於2015年新加坡国际艺术节首次演出，深获好评， 更被本地媒体评选为2015年杰出制作之一。之后，我们将这出具有参与性的演出带入校园，让中学生有机会参与体验。在2016年末，我们将此剧做出了调整后，把它带到台湾。在而今年（2017）三月，我们将它带到鹿特丹，让它在国际社区艺术节中亮相。

日期与地点：
7月5至8日，晚上8点，陈桂兰街(武吉士)旁边的广场
7月12至15日，晚上8点，大巴窑1巷大牌127（巴刹）前的空地
7月19至22日，晚上8点，后港地铁站B出口旁的空地 (后港坊旁边)

语言：
每个星期三和五，演出将以华语进行 （5、7、12、14、19和21日）
每个星期四和六，演出将以英语进行（6、8、13、15、20和22日）
