Synopsis:
The Asian Festivals Exchange (AFX) continues to spark intriguing cross-cultural conversations in artistic residencies that take place in Singapore and Seoul: South Korean partners Choi Minsun and Kang Jinan of Seoul Dance Collection's award-winning coterie, stand out for their immensely watchable chemistry with T.H.E Second Company's Jackie Ong joining the choreographic duo as a dancer, for a new creation residency.
The collaboration of T.H.E Associate Artist / founding member Zhuo Zihao and returning Festival guest Miwa Okuno, a Yokohama Dance Collection prizewinner, is one power pairing. Choreographing and performing alongside T.H.E Second Company's dancers, the duo is a true match of technical prowess, pure physicality and a shared love for multimedia and dance videography.
New to AFX is the pairing of New Zealand choreographer Sarah Foster-Sproull with T.H.E Second Company. Selected by the Asia New Zealand (ANZ) through a nationwide Open Call, Foster-Sproull's proposal stands out for its topical exploration of mass human migration and the surreal 'body-based' images she creates.
